Naomi's Mathsoul Poster
Artist Naomi wants to put 12 of her seasonal images on the 12 faces of a regular Platonic solid which stands 1.1m or 43 " high.
Why This Platonic Solid
A platonic solid is a convex regular polyhedron. So its faces, edges and angles will all be conguent.
Naomi wants to put her 12 seasonal images on the faces of the regular polyhedron so that it can be moved each month, to show the current month image in the most easily seen position. This approach overcomes a purchase constraint of many private customers and galleries who have no empty wall space for art; but do have floor and table space available.

Naomi's Poster Questions
Q1. What shape should each seasonal image be so that it fills an entire face?
Q2. What examples do you know of this shape occuring in the natural world, and in the built environment?
Q3. What are the interior and exterior angles for this shape?
Q4. What is the length of each side of this shape when the polyhedron stands 1.1m or 43 inches tall? This question may require research. (Hint: One relatively simple way to calculate this is from the ratio of inner sphere diameter to side length, which for this polyhedron is 2.227. A search for other approaches using Trig is also likely to be fruitful).
Q5. Naomi is also considering a similar platonic solid display approach for further artistic images relating to the 7 days of the week, another for the 5 days of the work week, and a final one for the 8 hours of the work day. Will this be possible and what shape and size will each of these series of images need to be if they are to stand at the same height?
